Program Manager
Sarah is the program manager for the E-commerce Entrepreneurship (ECE) program at Center for 21st Century Skills. As the “behind the scenes” editor for the curriculum, Sarah makes sure that the course is running smoothly and efficiently. Currently, more than ten CT high schools are using the ECE curriculum, and part of her job is to make classroom visits to support the teachers and students. Sarah also plans and implements experiential events for students to help prepare them for their Innovation Expo project.
Background
Sarah has a degree in Economics with minors in Math and Sustainable Energy Studies from Eastern Connecticut State University. The Center and Sarah have a long history; they go back to about 2004, when the CT Student Innovation Expo was known as the IT EXPO.
Professional Highlights
Her favorite part about the job is seeing the amount of pride students put into their work. Once students realize that they have ownership of their project, it is amazing to see the transformation from “typical school work” to work with personality and passion.
Hobbies
Sarah is extremely creative and resourceful. One of her favorite hobbies is cooking—she can make something out of anything. Just hand her a knife, a pan, and a few ingredients, and dinner is done.
