Matt Mervis

Matt has worked as an entrepreneur, consultant, and edtech product developer for over 20 years. He has served in roles including classroom teacher, district technology director, professional development specialist and innovation designer. Matt brings a unique set of skills and experience to help lead the exceptional team at Skills21. Matt lives in western MA with his wife, two kids, and a variety of dogs.

Debbie Giacin

Debbie has worked with EdAdvance for 10 years an has been a critical member of the Skills21 team for 5 years. Debbie manages accounting at Skills21 and loves the variety in her job. Each day brings something new whether it is maintaining budgets, organizing contracts, or planning large events like Expo Fest.

Rob de Andrade

Rob has a B.S. in mathematics and an M.A. in Earth and Planetary Science from Western Connecticut State University. He is a former STEM teacher in the secondary and college level and has worked as an instructional technology coordinator, educational researcher, and summer school supervisor. Rob is the program manager for the mathematics and engineering courses. He facilitates the implementation of challenge-based digital curricula for middle and high school by providing teacher and student support, training, and coaching in the use of Skills21 STEM courses. He also supports the development of Skills21 products, curricula, and programs.

Cameron Audia

Cameron received her B.S. in Mass Media Communications from Castleton State College, it was there she found her love for film making and continued to receive an M.F.A. in Film and Television Producing at Chapman University in Orange, California.  It was when she moved back to CT that she fell into teaching and became a Head Start Preschool teacher, discovering her passion for education. Cam is now the Skills21 program manager for High School and Middle School digital media as well the lead for School Fuel, a Pre-K through 3rd program.

Susan Auchincloss

Susan spent her early career in the pharmaceutical industry transitioning into roles of district manager and regional sales trainer being the recipient of national awards. Susan’s love of mentoring and teaching motivated her to pursue a teaching career and later non-profit development. She joins Skills21 with a varied background spreading the word of the awesomeness of Skills21 and the programs they offer. Susan lives in Litchfield with her husband, frequently traveling to Utah visiting her children taking in the amazing wild west.

Kerry MacFarland

Kerry holds a B.S. in Biology and a M.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology. Prior to joining the Skills21 team as a science program manager, Kerry was an instructor and curriculum developer for the Bioscience Explorations Program. She particularly enjoys working with Expo teams to develop strong science and research components within their projects.

Sarah Schauss


Sarah holds a B.A. in Economics from Eastern Connecticut State University. She is the program manager for the technology and business courses at Skills21. She also supports the planning and the implementation of student experiential events by working with partner universities and businesses to provide high school students with hands-on workshops and lectures. Skills21 team members have dubbed Schaussie the Expo Fest Queen.

Kevin Glass

Kevin has nine years of science teaching experience in both urban and suburban school districts in Connecticut. His passion for the implementation of innovative classroom technologies led him to a job with Google where he worked to improve the feasibility of Google Apps in the classroom. Kevin currently acts as the Director for the Center for Program Research & Evaluation at EDUCATION CONNECTION and supports the research efforts of the Skills21 team.  He is an accomplished program evaluator, excelling at quantitative and qualitative research, assessment tool generation, focus groups, STEM program evaluation, collaborative strategic change, organizational change management services, data analysis, and internal and external evaluations.
