The Center offers a number of professional services to districts, schools, and other institutions.
We firmly believe in the advantages of open source solutions to promote teaching and learning. The Center can assist with the design of course management platforms, digital portfolios, and virtual worlds, to name a few.
Our professional development model, like our courses, follows a blended learning approach. Project-based learning is also integral to many of our professional development sessions. From one-day workshops, to in-class coaching, to summer training, our customizable strands include: 21st century technology across the curriculum; 21st century math and science; 21st century humanities; 21st century media, business, and technology; and one-to-one technology implementation.
New educators involved in the Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences are required to attend the week-long Learn21 conference. Learn21 features keynote presentations from experienced educators, as well as workshops with program partners from diverse industries. Each teacher receives hands-on training in the online learning environment Moodle, the WordPress web design platform, and other technologies used extensively in our courses.
