FILM CHALLENGE
Overview
The Connecticut Career Choices (CCC) Film Challenge takes place once each fall and spring semester. Registration for the fall challenge is now open and will close on November 6th. This statewide film competition is open to all Connecticut High Schools. Independent organizations interested in participating should contact us directly. Selected films will appear at the Connecticut Student Film Festival is May, where the winning submission will be announced.
Project Details
Criteria
• The team must be registered under a Connecticut high school.
• A school may have multiple production teams.
• A production team must have a student team leader. The team leader is responsible for registering the team and must provide contact details.
• Each student must have the permission of a parent or guardian and provide the parent/guardian contact information on the registration form (name, relationship to student, phone, e-mail). Give this information to the team leader. Your registration form will not be processed without it.
• The production team may also receive support/guidance from a teacher or from a mentor outside the school. Teachers and mentors MUST be credited in the film’s
closing credits and clearly indicated as a teacher or mentor.
• Students must apply and respect the responsibilities of independent filmmakers. They may NOT use outside media unless they have prior written permission, or if the media is distributed under Creative Commons.
• Students must secure waiver documents for any individuals who have recognizable identities in the film.
• Stories should be original and contain appropriate material and themes that are acceptable in a classroom environment.
• Stories may NOT contain any excess violence, sex, or inappropriate language.
• Any special effects or minor production stunts that might put the general public or production team at risk are strictly prohibited.
• Projects must be produced within the advertised 84-hour production period.
• Projects must fulfill and contain the assignment criteria for the 2009 CCC Film Challenge. The assignment criteria will be released and made available for download at 7:00 AM on November 13th at
