3D virtual worlds are multi-user generated, 3D computer-based environments where participants interact using graphical representations of themselves, called Avatars.
IVCS2 is the Center for 21st Century Skills’ 3D virtual world for students in the Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. As part of our blended-learning environment, this platform provides a unique online learning experience for students from urban and suburban schools to interact and collaborate in real time and from remote locations.
Students participate in activities designed to nurture and develop skills in creativity and problem solving. The collaboration space is an ideal for meetings spaces and workshops to simulate real world activities. In addition to the guided activities, each school has a unique space to create their own environment on the island in order to present their final project. IVCS2 is quickly growing to become one of the more popular platforms to showcase innovative student work.
