What We Do

We provide original curricula, training, and support for innovative courses in science, technology, and math.

Who We Are

Center for 21st Century Skills is a program of EDUCATION CONNECTION, one of the six Regional Educational Support Centers in Connecticut. Our courses are taught in schools throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts. We are a dynamic, creative group of educators with experience in fields including classroom teaching, curriculum writing, digital media production, graphic design, health care, business, and music.

Our Philosophy

Our courses are designed to foster student and teacher inquiry and collaboration. We integrate web-based, experiential, and traditional instruction to reach students of varied learning styles and abilities. Our challenge-based approach allows for flexibility in the implementation of our courses.

Our Special Events

A highlight for Center for 21st Century Skills is the annual CT Student Innovation Expo, which showcases student projects in science and technology. We also host the CT Student Film Festival, held each year in May, featuring films conceived and produced by students. The Center provides experiential opportunities throughout the school year in order to prepare students for these two capstone events.

Our Funding

EDUCATION CONNECTION is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. The Center’s work is primarily funded by federal, state, and private funds.

The Schools We Serve

We are currently serving 34 schools in Connecticut and one school in Massachusetts. We expect to add an additional five schools to our Academy of Digital of Arts and Sciences for the 2012-2013 school year.
